Let’s face it, this has been a hard spring for retail. Mother Nature can’t quite decide if she is ready to bloom just yet, leaving us in the cold. Who wants to “freshen up for spring“ when you are still wearing your winter coat? Me neither...I completely understand. Unfortunately, we small businesses are REALLY feeling the cold, leaving some of us wondering if we are going to make it. Even with the sun shining outside today, it was feeling pretty gloomy in the store with very few customers wandering through the doors for the better part of the day (or weeks, more realistically). But then, two brand new customers to Winding Road stepped into the store. They had wide eyes and exclamations of excitement for everything they saw! One told me that she just didn’t know which way to go, because she didn’t want to miss anything. The other told me that while she very much enjoys our Facebook page, it just doesn’t do the store justice. She had no idea what the store truly looked and felt like until she walked through our doors. These compliments truly brightened our day! Thank you ladies for pulling a bit more sunshine into our store! We definitely needed your warmth! If you have never made the trip to California, MO to visit us, we would sure love to see your face! If these two ladies were missing the whole picture of what we have to offer, maybe you are too! Even with all of the big store sales going on around you, consider making the extra effort to support your local retailers this spring.
